Codes and Conventions of a Radio Trailer

This video shows the radio trailers which I used for my research and I made sure to note down the conventions which all trailers show.

I can see that within each trailer there are clips from the actual programme itself, after this there is then a voiceover introducing the show and informing the listener when the show is i.e. time and date and what channel the programme will appear on, the voiceover usually either uses imperatives for example "join Stephen Fry.." or questions, "how far would you go to keep the relationship with your furry or feathered friend alive?". There is also background music which is appropriate to the programme.

For our radio advert, we had the person who was doing our voiceover whisper all the names of the seven deadly sins. We then split the voice clip into seven using the 'slice' tool on Adobe Premier Pro, so we could cut out any unwanted 'dead air' we were then able to copy the clip and place in the lower section and turn the volume down. This gave each clip an echo effect. We then included voice clips from the documentary and after this the voiceover then asks the audience a question: "What's your poison?" then she informs the listener when the documentary is on and what channel, we decided to use Robbie Williams - Bodies for the background music.

This is a draft of our radio trailer - uncut.
